Beginner’s Sourdough Workshop

Join me in a four hour workshop where you’ll learn all about making sourdough bread. I’ll teach you how to make a loaf of sourdough, feed and maintain a sourdough starter, explain fermentation basics, and show you how to shape the dough that you'll take home to bake the next day. We’ll cover the entire process from start to finish! Plus get access to my online course worth over $100! 🎉

During the four hour workshop we will:

  • make bread

  • score and bake bread

  • snack on sourdough bread and sourdough chocolate chip cookies + other snacks

You will take home :

  • dough in a tea towel and colander to bake the next day

  • an Aliquot jar(dough clock)

  • a printed workbook with recipes and instructions

  • a container of sourdough starter (that is 230 + years old from SanFrancisco)

  • access to YouTube sourdough tutorials via my digital workbook/course

  • an option to join our Beginner’s Sourdough Workshop private Facebook group

  • and finally the knowledge to bake sourdough all on your own over and over again which is priceless!

Please arrive at 8:45am. I will contact you with the address and details before class.

Don’t forget your digital food scale if you have one. If you don't, I will have a few on hand to buy in class.

For baking your bread the day after class: Make sure you have high quality parchment paper and some sort of pot with a lid that you can bake your bread in the next day.(Please note: you don’t need to bring these two things to class.)

A round cast iron Dutch oven (6Q or larger)or aluminum roaster pan will both work well.

Here are a few options if you don't already own a pot with a lid.

This Lodge cast iron combo cooker bakes beautiful bread! The shallow lid allows the bread to brown up perfectly.

This lightweight non-stick aluminum roaster pan is what I use. It also bakes beautiful bread without the heavy lifting! Make sure to buy size medium.

Here is a traditional cast iron pot that will work well. It also has a shallow lid for browning the bread up nicely.

There will also be a few fun beautiful sourdough tools for sale during class, to purchase these items, I accept cash, check, Venmo and PayPal.

Please note, there are no cancellations once you signup. The prep work involved for these classes takes a massive amount of time. You may send someone in your place if you can't make it. Thanks for understanding! :)

Please make sure to include your name, email address and phone number when checking out so I can send you details about the class about a week before class. Thank you!

The ONLY thing you need to bring is : your digital food scale if you have one. If you don't, I will have a few on hand to buy in class.

I hope to see you there. It’s going to be a blast!
